Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information BackTier collects through backtier.com, why it is collected, how long it is kept, and what you can ask us to do with it. It applies to this website and to email and telephone contact with us. It does not apply to third-party websites we link to.
Who is responsible for your data

What we collect
Information you give us. When you use a contact or corrections form, or email or call us, we receive the details you choose to provide — typically your name, email address, organization, website, and the content of your message.
Technical information. Our hosting and content-delivery providers log standard request data, including IP address, user agent, referring page, and timestamps, in order to serve the site, protect it from abuse, and diagnose faults.
Publicly available information about your brand. When you engage us for measurement work, we record how AI systems and public sources describe your organization. That material is gathered from public outputs and public web pages, not from your internal systems.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal information. We do not share your enquiry with other clients or partners. We do not use your enquiry to train machine-learning models. We do not run advertising trackers that build cross-site profiles of you.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses only the cookies and local storage needed for the site to function, such as remembering an interface preference. If we add analytics or a marketing pixel in future, this section will be updated before it goes live, and it will be named here.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are retained for as long as needed to answer them and to keep a record of the conversation, and then for up to 24 months. Client engagement records are retained for the life of the engagement and for up to seven years afterwards where required for tax, accounting, or legal reasons. Server logs are retained on our providers' standard schedules, typically under 90 days.
Service providers
We use third parties to host this website, deliver email, and store engagement records. They process data on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We choose providers that offer appropriate security and confidentiality commitments.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop contacting you. Email jason@backtier.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you believe something we have published about your organization is inaccurate, use our corrections process, which is a public, documented route with a response commitment.
Children
This is a business-to-business website. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of the page and describe the change. Our editorial and correction commitments are published separately in our editorial policy.
